SINCE 2018: NETZWERK KONNAKOL
In 2018, Johannes Winkler initiated and co-founded 'Netzwerk Konnakol' - researching & teaching advanced southindian time-counting techniques with founder of Tamil Culture Fine Arts Academy Germany : Anushaant Nayinai Wijayan (master of mridangam). Based in Essen NRW, Germany.
Inspired also by Rafael Reina's PhD thesis (2014) about the application of special southindian-carnatic rhythm-techniques to the incorporation and creation of complex western (contemporary) music, they developed a course module-system with various contents specialized for typical needs of western musicians and composers, aimed at students/professionals and step-by-step courses for beginners. In the 'carnatic module' the traditional usages of structures can be learned, too. See video teasers and course contents. In order to make the wide potential of its rhythmic applications more transparent, 'Netzwerk Konnakol' is now (mid 2021) integrating further professional interprets with various musical backgrounds (Jazz, Contemporary, Classical). Read about our current Team members.
In 2017, Mr. Winkler also had presented the topic to Neuropsycholinguisticists, Speech- & Musictherapists (invited at NRW Tagung 2017) in order to invite language-based professionals to start researching about it (in 2017 no paper was published yet in Neuropsycholinguistics). Meanwhile they can adress to 'Netzwerk Konnakol' via A. Stanko (Speechtherapist, Gestaltpsychotherapist) from our team.
Since 2019, Mr. Winkler is creating compositions, transcriptions & video-contents for 'Netzwerk Konnakol'. Below are some of them - you can find all works on Instagram @konnakol.de and meanwhile on youtube, too.
